The Art of the Pull

With the new heroics leaning more towards controlling adds and using CC it's important to know how to setup a pull correctly as a tank. This can almost be as important as the pull itself. Sometimes when I'm on my warlock, I'll even volunteer to setup the pulls if the tank hasn't been to the dungeon before. Nothing beats pure experience but Blizzard always gives you hints with their naming conventions.

I'll use The Vortex Pinnacle as an example;

This time of year is always a drag on the poor blogsphere. Between the release of Cataclysm, the rush to 85, and the typical family / friend holiday party scene, this writer is on hiatus until the new year. However before that happens I'd like to take a moment to thank everyone for a tremendously successful year for Ferocious Inspiration. This year FI has moved to a new URL, attained some fun features, gained a few contributors and received hundreds of thousands of hits. It's been whirlwind but extremely fun. I hope we will continue to grow!

A New Stab at the Future--A Darkspear's Beginning

With the Shattering of Azeroth, much was destroyed on the Kalimidorian continent; Barrens torn asunder, Thousand Needles flooded, Darkshore devastated, the list goes on and on. Even among all this devastation, the Horde has carried the momentum forward following the fall of Zalzane on the Echo Isles, and built a Darkspear Troll presence in the southern portion of Durotaur, building a new permanent settlement there. Now, when a Troll decides to cash in his chips and begin the life of a stalwart adventurer, no longer will he begin his journey in the Valley of Trials, but in the Echo Isles, among his own kind.

How is everyone fairing so far in the mighty Cataclysm?

I know how I'm feeling. Generally speaking when an expansion drops I begin feeling extremely lost and confused. This expansion is no different, and I find myself logging on to stare at a screen with a blank look on my face. Even the most basic of raiding technique escape me as I stand in bad void zones and strafe away from Efflorescence / Healing Rain. Personally this is just how I roll. I tend to begin the expansion very much in the dark and without solid guidance. However once I settle down and begin to do some research, I find I do much better. I've always been a planner....thanks mom.

Today I wanted to touch on just some of the topics that are important to me at the end of week one.

THE OTHER SIDE!

Well after a small hiccup getting logged on to the servers at 3 AM , I'm happy to report we are leveling along and enjoying ourselves. There is nothing like the joys of replacing T10 gear with higher item level greens and blues. Here is a shot of Gordrin and I as we finished up Hyjal.

The most amazing WoW video ever......

So my buddy posted this video on my Facebook wall. It was about 15 seconds into the video I realized this was possibly the BEST WoW video I had ever seen. Was it a raid kill? Was it an exploit? Was it some PVP slaughter? No, it was Billy Joel. They good folks over at Dark Endeavor all got together and found a creative way to blow away the pre expansion blues - coordinating an 81 man karaoke version of "We Didn't Start The Fire" by Billy Joel in Stormwind. The idea seemed fairly straight forward but many subtle details (like having the druids sing the chorus) made this video incredibly entertaining.

The Valley of Trials - An Orcs Beginning

The Valley of Trials, where many a young orc has begun their long series of quests on the roads of Azeroth, has also received a facelift after Deathwing brought the Shattering to the World of Warcraft. Though not as major as some of the other remodeled starting zones, there are still enough changes to be worth mentioning.

New Tirisfal Glades Starting Area

Okay guys, so I took some time away from doing the thumb twiddling I have been doing while waiting for cataclysm to drop and decided to look at the new Tirisfal Glades questing, and so far I must say that I am fairly impressed. It seems that Blizzards was very true to their word when it comes to making the quests flow, because that seems to be exactly what it has been doing so far.
